    Stillwater lift bridge

 

Stillwater is known as the  birthplace of  Minnesota  and  the Lift bridge crossing the St. Croix River connects Minnesota to Wisconsin.     The Stillwater  Lift Bridge was built in 1931 and is listed on  the National Register of  Historic Places  as a testament to innovative engineering techniques in the early twentieth century.
